The factory premises for ayurvedic manufacturing company should be suited at hygiene place and constructed to avoid contamination from outside environment. It should be constructed with concrete roof and cemented walls. It should have adequate space for conducting day to day activities like:
Minimum Covered Area Required: 1200 Square Feet with separate cabins/partitions
Total Covered Area of premises should be minimum of 1200 Square feet. If unani medicines manufacturing is also being carried out in same premises then 400 square feet additional covered area will be required.
Further that covered area is divided into partition based upon formulation to be manufactured. One partition could be used for more than one formulation depend at nature and property of formulation. Suppose we require mixing of powder for capsule and tablets. This mixing could be performed into powder section. Likewise same packing area could be used for pills/vati/gutika and capsules etc.
Partition required in manufacturing area along with area per partition:
1. Anjana/Pisti: 100 Suare Feet
2. Churna/Nasya/Manjan/Lepa/Kwath Churn: 200 square feet
3. Pills/Va//Gutika Matirai/Tablets: 100 Square Feet
4. Kupi pakava/Ksara/parpati/Lavana Bhasma/Satva/Sindura Karpu/Uppu/Param: 150 Square Feet
5. Kajal: 100 Square Feet
6. Capsules: 100 Square Feet
7. Ointment/Marham Pasai: 100 Square Feet
8. Pak/Avaleh/Khand/Modak/Lakayam: 100 Square Feet
9. Panak Syrup/Pravahi/Kwath Manapaku: 150 Square Feet
10. Asava/Aristha: 200 Square Feet
11. Sura: 100 Square Feet
12. Ark Tinir: 100 Square Feet
13. Tail/Ghrit Ney: 100 Square Fee
14. Aschyotan/Netra Malham Panir/Karn Bindu/Nasa Bindu: 100 Square Feet
Each manufacturing unit should have a separate area for Bhatti, Furnace boiler, puta etc. There should be proper ventilation, removal of smoke, prevention of flies, insects, dust etc. The minimum area should be 200 square feet. The furnace section could have tin roof.

- Manufacturing process area
- Quality Control section
- Finished goods store
- Office
- Rejected goods/drug store
