Investment required for Ayurvedic Manufacturing and Marketing Company

Question: I am a Science Graduate and have pharmaceutical working experience. I want to start Ayurvedic Pharma Company either manufacturing or marketing in Maharashtra, start with few Ayurvedic Ointments and lotions section and Ayurvedic Spray section. (To start with like some Ayurvedic pain relief balm, creams & oils, and Spray also). So I want to know of budget of starting business for Ayurvedic Pharma Company. Can I start this in a small set up at 2 to 5 lakh?

Answer: There are different requirements for starting ayurvedic manufacturing company and ayurvedic marketing company. You can check out detail for starting Ayurvedic Manufacturing Company here and Starting Ayurvedic marketing company here.

Ayurvedic Manufacturing Company: Most of part of investment is required for land, premises and plant set-up. If you want to purchase own plant for manufacturing unit then its investment depends at location where you are going to purchase plant. At some areas, value of plant could be less or at some areas, it may be higher side. You can prevent this investment by renting a premise for your manufacturing unit. Minimum area required for setting up ayush manufacturing unit is 1200 sq. feet.

Other than plant and premises, you can start ayurvedic manufacturing unit at small scale without high tech machineries with 2 to 5 lakh budget. Not all sections but you can start with one to two sections with this budget.

Ayurvedic Marketing Company: If we talk about ayurvedic marketing company, then it requires less investment as compare to ayurevdic manufacturing unit. Most of investment in ayurvedic marketing company is required in stock inventory. Ayurvedic contract manufacturer will manufacture your marketed by ayurvedic products at basis of minimum order quantity (MOQ).

That will vary manufacturer to manufacturer but common minimum order quantity is 2000 pc for 200 ml syrup, 1000 pc for 450 ml/500 ml liquid preparations, 30000 cap/tab, 2000 lami tube for ointment/creams etc. Minimum order quantity is decided by manufacturing company at their production scale and capacity. In starting, you can go with small scale ayurvedic companies and try to get manufactured your ayurvedic medicines at small MOQ. That will reduce your investment.

In 2 to 5 lakh budget, you can easily start ayurvedic marketing company with good number of products. Number of products you can get manufactured in this budget, will depend at cost per product. If products are costly then number of products will be less and if products are of low rates then number of products in that budget will be more.

Conclusion: Practically if we talk about investment, there is no minimum or maximum investment bar for starting a business.
